Guidelines
 
   
  We are bringing the Whyte Avenue Art Walk back to its roots. All artists asked to adhere to the following guidelines.
  1. Exhibit Original and handmade art
  2. Demonstrate art-making is essential

Artists must bring 1 – 3 images that represent the subject matter,
media and style that will be exhibited at the Art Walk. Please include photographs or printouts only (no slides, originals, disks, no other electronic images). We will be keeping these images on file and they can be returned after the Art Walk.

MINIMUM of 75% (or more) of each display must be ORIGINAL artwork. One-of-a-kind works will be accepted in the following mediums:

  • Oil painting
  • Acrylic paintings
  • Watercolours
  • Drawings (graphite, charcoal, soft and chalk pastel, other dry media)
  • Sculpture (stone, clay, metal)
  • Printmaking (etching, silkscreen, lithography)
  • Caricatures and Portrait Drawings are encouraged.
  • Demonstrating art-making is encouraged.

MAXIMUM of 25% (or less) of each display can be ‘OTHER ARTS’ and support materials. The following can be shown but in a limited fashion. None of the following can be the only item an artist is exhibiting.

  • Reproductions (posters, giclee, computer print-outs, photocopies)
  • Cards, bookmarks, pins, magnets etc
  • Photography
  • Pottery. glassware and tableware
  • Jewellery
  • Clothing (t-shirts, scarves, hats, quilts etc)
  • Face Painting
