Elaine Cherwoniak Elaine is an emerging artist who was born and raised in Edmonton, Alberta. Elaine’s passion for drawing and painting started at an early age. Her artistic talent is completely natural. She attended children’s art classes starting at age 7 at the Edmonton Art Gallery. She has always dreamed of being an artist but during the years of raising her family, she found herself far too busy to pick up the pencils and brushes and only did the occasional piece. In 2002, when her family had grown up to begin their own lives, she returned to her love of artistic creation. That year she gathered her courage and entered to participate in the Whyte Avenue Art Walk. The feedback was very positive. Since that time she has been creating mainly figurative pieces and has been commissioned for paintings for private collections as well as several window art pieces for businesses in the Edmonton area. In 2006 she enrolled in Fine Arts at Emily Carr Art Institute in Vancouver, BC. Back in Edmonton now, she has started wall murals which she finds challenging and exciting.
