Whyte Avenue Art Walk
Friday, Saturday and Sunday

10 AM - 5 PM Daily

We will have over 300 artists participating. The avenue promises to be full of art-making and art-sharing. Artists can be seen from 107 St to 101 St along Whyte Avenue (both sides of the streets) and spilling into MacIntyre Park. Discover even more artists in the park north of the Iron Horse railway station.

There is something for everyone. It is a great family event to bring visitors for the weekend.

Registration Day
Saturday March 5, 2011 12 PM - 8 PM at The Paint Spot (new address) 10032 81 Avenue Registration begins no sooner than Noon (at The Paint Spot) Ends at 8:00 p.m. Read and meet the guidelines. Bring images of your work with you for approval.

Reasons for Guidelines are for Fine Art and Visual Arts Only
We are bringing the Whyte Avenue Art Walk back to its roots. All artists asked to adhere to the following guidelines. 1.Exhibit Original and handmade art 2.Demonstrate art-making is essential Artists must bring 1 – 3 images that represent the subject matter, media and style that will be exhibited at the Art Walk. Please include photographs or printouts only (no slides, originals, disks, no other electronic images). We will be keeping these images on file and they can be returned after the Art Walk. MINIMUM of 75% (or more) of each display must be ORIGINAL artwork. One-of-a-kind works will be accepted in the following mediums: •Oil painting •Acrylic paintings •Watercolours •Drawings (graphite, charcoal, soft and chalk pastel, other dry media) •Sculpture (stone, clay, metal) •Printmaking (etching, silkscreen, lithography) •Caricatures and Portrait Drawings are encouraged. •Demonstrating art-making is encouraged. MAXIMUM of 25% (or less) of each display can be ‘OTHER ARTS’ and support materials. The following can be shown but in a limited fashion. None of the following can be the only item an artist is exhibiting. •Reproductions (posters, giclee, computer print-outs, photocopies) •Cards, bookmarks, pins, magnets etc •Photography •Pottery. glassware and tableware •Jewellery •Clothing (t-shirts, scarves, hats, quilts etc) •Face Painting
